For the last five years, Front has made it easier for teams to tackle work email together with collaborative shared inboxes. Today, we’re adding calendar and meeting scheduling to our platform through the acquisition of Meetingbird.
Founded in June 2016 and backed by Y Combinator and Khosla Ventures, Meetingbird powers the scheduling and meeting planning needs of 15,000 weekly active users. With Meetingbird, scheduling (and rescheduling) meetings goes from multiple frustrating emails to just one click.
Paul and Henry Dornier, co-founders of Meetingbird, have recently been working towards a vision of making the relationship between calendar and email seamless. To this end, a few months ago, they launched an integration to Front so that Meetingbird’s calendar and scheduling functionality would be accessible from within the Front inbox.
As we got to know the Meetingbird team and discuss opportunities to expand the integration, it became clear that email and calendar belong together in one platform. And now, I am thrilled to be welcoming Paul and Henry to the Front team. Together, we’ll reinvent the calendar by making it collaborative, adding intelligent automation, and deeply integrating it with email. The result will be an even more robust platform where people can accomplish more together.
In the meantime, Meetingbird will continue to be available for all customers via its Chrome extension, web application, and, of course, Front integration.
With Meetingbird now a part of Front, we are taking a giant step forward in pursuit of our goal of making people more efficient and ultimately happier at work.
