Front’s redesigned inbox is cleaner, faster, and more focused, built to help teams work with less clutter and more control. It’s the most efficient Front yet.

Today, we launched a redesigned inbox experience that’s cleaner, faster, and more focused — built to help teams like yours cut through the noise and concentrate on what matters most.

Our customers now expect to use AI in every app, including Front. And with our growing library of integrations and connectors, teams are bringing even more customer data directly into Front. As we’ve added more and more functionality over time, we’ve also heard your feedback about the friction that comes with context-switching, crowded interfaces, and complex workflows.

This update is our response: a sleek, simplified inbox that makes every moment in Front more productive.

Front’s new inbox

“The visual experience is much cleaner and more modern. The icon changes have made identifying different elements easier, and the colors add emphasis where it’s needed. The update to how tags are bundled in the conversation view really help me stay focused in the right place.” — Luke Atkins, Product Support Manager at Front

Our team has been dogfooding the new design to get it just right since April. Here’s what’s new and what the Front team is loving about it.

✅ Your day, organized: Open, Later, Done

Prioritizing your day just got easier. Your individual workspace now includes three sections that organize conversations based on their urgency and status:

Open: Where work lives — includes conversations Assigned to me and Subscribed

Later: Conversations that are Snoozed or Waiting

Done: Resolved and Archived items, ready to be tucked away

This structure makes it crystal clear what needs your attention now vs. what can wait. And for users working with ticketing in Front, it solves a long-standing pain point: waiting conversations are no longer hidden away in Archived. If you haven’t leveraged ticket statuses before, we highly recommend giving it a shot with this update.

“The open/later/done separation — especially with ticketing — makes it so much easier to stay organized. It’s just more intuitive now.” — Lina Le Xuan, Technical Project Manager at Front

“The overhaul and merging of the archived and snoozed tabs in each inbox simplifies things a lot for me. It’s easier to scan what needs attention and what’s already handled, without jumping between folders.” — Maxime Haudebert, Senior Technical Support Engineer at Front

🧠 Faster context at a glance

We’ve introduced a compact header at the top of each conversation. You still get all the key context, just in a cleaner layout that takes up less space.

Search has also moved into the sidebar, giving you more vertical room to read and reply. On smaller screens or in split-view setups, every pixel counts.

Beyond just layout, this update also streamlines the way tags, custom fields, linked conversations, and other conversation objects are displayed. Everything you need is still there — just more organized, less noisy, and easier to scan.

“With the new redesign, we get more space in the middle and right-hand panes — the conversation list and the message details. I can finally see the full message view without feeling cramped. My cortisol levels are now generally lower when I’m using Front ✨” — Hen Sapir, Staff Engineer at Front

📥 More space to work, with fewer distractions

The left sidebar is now collapsible, so you can expand your workspace whenever you need to focus. This change is designed to give you more real estate in the conversation pane, making it easier to read and reply without distractions. Just hover to bring the sidebar back into view when you need it.

“Collapsible left sidebar = more real estate > I have so much more space to work with.” Baptiste Couly, Product Director at Front

“I love that I can easily collapse the left sidebar now, and it’s led to me using more keyboard shortcuts to navigate around Front. I now have a ‘focus’ view where I collapse the left pane and far right pane and stick the list of conversations in compact mode via the Quick Switcher.” — Luke Atkins, Senior Customer Support Specialist at Front

New to shortcuts? Here’s a handy list.

🔍 A cleaner and more customized experience all around

From improved conversation previews to updated colors and shortcut reminders throughout the product, this redesign is full of small touches that add up to a more delightful experience.

“Front feels even more customizable, and I love it. It makes me feel like more of an owner. The new customization options — like collapsible inbox sections, dark mode throughout, and the cleaner layout in list of conversations and conversation view — help tailor the experience to how I work.

Add in things like personalized message template shortcuts and the stronger emphasis on keyboard navigation, and it really starts to feel like my Front. It’s not just a tool I use, it reflects my habits and preferences. That sense of control and familiarity makes the product feel more like a playground than a platform.” — Maxime Haudebert, Senior Technical Support Engineer at Front
